Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley (2) and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook (0) exchange words in the second half in game five of the first round of the 2017 NBA Playoffs at Toyota Center.

The bad blood between Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook and pesky Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley finally boiled over in Game 5.

Westbrook, who seemingly did everything he could possibly do to extend their series to a Game 6, got into it with Beverley midway through the fourth quarter.

Westbrook fouled Beverley and appeared to swing his right arm near Beverley's groin. What ensued was a classic exchange between two guys who have serious disdain for each other.

The two have a history. Westbrook suffered a torn meniscus in the 2013 playoffs after Beverley knocked into his knee while going for a steal. Since then there's been understandable tension.

Listening to Westbrook address the incident, that tension was hardly diminished after the game.
