The 2017 All-Suburban Softball Team was selected independent of position and chosen by members of the Now Newspapers sports staff.

Player of the Year

Becca Oleniczak, jr., Oak Creek

Finished with a 21-1 record, posting 136 strikeouts in 141 innings and a 1.04 ERA. Opponents batted just .136 against her. At the plate, she was also a force, batting .510 with 12 doubles, five homers, 38 RBIs and just one strikeout. Lone loss came in state semifinal while she battled heat exhaustion. First-team All State selection.

Coach of the Year

Jeff Trask, Oak Creek

In his fifth year with the program, led Oak Creek to state for the first time since 2008. The Knights lost just two games – both to state finalist Wilmot – and finished 29-2. With a freshman catcher (Jenna Trewyn) in the mix, Oak Creek’s infield defense was among the best in the area, allowing pitcher Becca Oleniczak to pitch to contact. Trask and his coaching staff (Jodi Schmidt, John Cox) utilized Oleniczak and Trewyn in their spots even though both play third base during the club season.
