GRAFTON GIRLS SOCCER

Hailey Block tallied two goals and Malaya Sperber added one goal and one assist for the Black Hawks in a 3-1 triumph over Slinger on March 30.

Goaltender Corbin Woessner made two saves for Grafton, which was rated in the top five in the Division 3 preseason coaches poll.

PORT WASHINGTON GIRLS TRACK

Junior Alexis Reichardt came in fourth in the high jump with 5 feet, 2 inches, and seventh in the 800-meter run with 2 minutes, 28.95 seconds in the Oshkosh Large School Invitational on March 27 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Brenna Kautz snared 11th in the 3,200-meter run (12:23.27), Jill Cavanaugh placed 12th in the 1,600 run (5:47.25) and Brynn Greisch 14th in the shot put (30-3½).

Taking 15th were Katie Erlandson in the 800 (2:36.95) and Julia Greisch in the high jump (4-8).

Port scored seven points for 20th place in the 25-team meet.

The Pirates also competed in a triangular at Homestead on March 30. Winners were Amaya Brownmiller in the 55 dash (8.22 seconds), Emily Mitchell in the 200 meters (32.02), Isa Shiflett in the 55 hurdles (9.97) and the long jump (14-11¼) and Brynn Greisch in the shot put (30-10½).

Finishing second were Shiflett in the 55 dash (8.25), Noel Konitzer in the 200 (32.54), Mitchell in the 800 (2:58.78) and Brownmiller in the long jump (11-11).

PORT WASHINGTON GIRLS SOCCER

Junior midfielder Lyndie Krueger scored the lone goal, assisted by senior defender Brianna Schnell, in a 1-0 victory over Cedar Grove-Belgium on March 31.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kaytlin Kassens made five saves in the shutout.

The Pirates fell, 6-0, to Brookfield Academy on April 1 and 3-0 to Slinger on March 28.

HOMESTEAD BOYS TRACK

Senior Thomas Miller was fifth in the 3,200 meters in a fine time of 9:45.39 in the Madison West Relays on April 1.

Neenah sophomore Matt Meinke won the race in 9:33.08.

The Highlanders tested out some relays there as the 4x200 meter squad turned in a competitive time of 1:37.54 while the 4x400 group also just missed placing with a 3:37.88 effort. Jared Schneider had a fine long jump of 20-6 1/2 and Tim Rodd hit a fine toss in the shot put at 49-3 1/4.

Homestead will host the North Shore Conference Indoor track meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 6.
