CEDARBURG BOYS BASKETBALL
Jordan Johnson totaled 27 points to go over the 1,000-point mark for his career, and the Bulldogs topped Wisconsin Lutheran, 78-71, on Dec. 23.
Johnson joins teammate John Diener in the 1,000-point club, with Diener tallying 18 in the game.
Matt Barber added 13 points and Jared Short 11 for the Bulldogs, who hit 20-of-21 at the line in moving to 7-0 on the season.
Cedarburg takes on Brookfield East at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, and Germantown at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, both at home.
PORT BOYS BASKETBALL
Adam Baierl led four players in double digits for the Pirates in a 66-56 triumph over Ozaukee on Dec. 19, the Pirates' first victory of the season.
Baierl scored 15 points, Evan Lilly 14 points and Oliver Giersch and Jack Larson 11 apiece for Port, which outscored Ozaukee 44-34 in the second half to wipe out a 2-point halftime deficit.
The Pirates then fell to Homestead, 52-32, on Dec. 21 in a makeup game. Baierl and Larson each put in 7 points and Isaac McKinney 6 points for Port, which fell to 1-5 on the season.
The Pirates meet University School of Milwaukee at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at home.
GRAFTON BOYS BASKETBALL
The Black Hawks posted two victories last week, downing Milwaukee Lutheran, 63-55, on Dec. 20 and Green Bay West, 69-49, on Dec. 22.
In the Lutheran game, Tanner Autey tallied 17 points, Justin Peters 15 and Ryan Stachurski 12 for the Hawks, who outscored the Red Knights, 40-29, in the second half.
Peters led against Green Bay with 14 points, followed by Autey with 13 and Darrian Langerman with 11. Grafton took control with a 33-18 first half.
The Hawks moved to 5-2 overall and will take on Port Washington at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at home in their next action.
GRAFTON GIRLS BASKETBALL
Hannah Belanger enjoyed a good week with 51 total points to help the Black Hawks win twice.
Belanger poured in 24 points in a 48-43 victory over Lake Country Lutheran on Dec. 20 and 27 in a 50-27 triumph over Green Bay East on Dec. 22.
Chloe Doring added 14 points against Lutheran and Sarah Schmitz 6 points against East.
Grafton improved to 5-4 overall and will next play at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at home against Port Washington.
PORT GIRLS BASKETBALL
Amanda Baierl collected 24 points, but the Pirates fell to Homestead, 56-41, in a North Shore Conference makeup game on Dec. 20.
Katie Lemkuil added 8 points for Port, which fell to 3-7 on the season. The Pirates take on Grafton at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Grafton.
