Brain cancer.

The two words chill to the bone.

Yesterday, we learned that Sen. John McCain is now preparing for one of the toughest battles of his life.

I imagine there are some in this nation – and in this state -- who are cheering the news. A certain Nevada Republican National Committeewoman comes to mind and that lovely blogger who wrote “Just F____ing Die Already” upon hearing that McCain underwent surgery last weekend for a blood clot.

POLICING THE USA: A look at race, justice, media

We are living in a Twitter world, after all, where there are no boundaries anymore.

Fortunately, McCain will get the best care possible – something every Arizonan and every American deserves.

Something every senator should remember.

But McCain is an old soldier who in his life has faced monsters most of us cannot even imagine.

I’m praying that he can defeat one more.
