Sweetest responses to #NationalChocolateCupcakeDay

Diving into a chocolate coconut-filled almond cupcake inspired by an Almond Joy might be a good way to celebrate National Chocolate Cupcake Day.

National Chocolate Cupcake Day, celebrated Tuesday, will give you an excuse (like you needed one) to go for dessert.

(This day shouldn't be confused with National Cupcake Day, which doesn't discriminate against flavors and falls on Dec. 15.)

Sure, these “holidays” might be getting a little out of hand, but it’s hard not to get behind a day celebrating chocolate cupcakes. Plus, Twitter users are pointing out a few key issues around the day:

Like, why is there a cake emoji but not a cupcake one?

And, while we're thankful for the gourmet cupcake shop movement, it's nice to reminisce on the days before sky-high frosting.

But, who can resist turning something delicious into a work of art?

Among the sweet, chocolatey images filling up newsfeeds today, were some references to one of the most expensive desserts ever sold — the Decadence D’Or. Before Sweet Surrenders cupcake and candy shop in Las Vegas closed, it offered the cupcake for $750. The dessert was made with some pricey ingredients, including a 100 year-old Louis XIII de Remy Martin Cognac.

Feeling crabby about National Chocolate Cupcake Day? You can always go for soup Wednesday, also known as National Seafood Bisque Day.
