Women's Focus, Inc. is hosting State Representative Robert Brooks of the 60th Assembly District on Oct. 19.

The event, with the subject of pending and new legislation for small businesses, will be held at the Ozaukee Country Club, 10823 N. River Road, with networking and registration beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Brooks was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2014. He has served on the Ozaukee County Board for 13 years -- nine as chairman and one as vice-chairman -- and has been a businessman for more than 25 years, operating several businesses.  Additionally, Brooks has served as commissioner on the South Eastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.

The news release states that as a businessman, Brooks "recognizes the impact of high taxation and overbearing regulation on the private sector."

In appreciation of Brooks' time, Women's Focus is making a $100 donation to an organization of his choosing.

Those interested can make reservations and payments at womensfocus.org or by emailing reservations@womensfocus.org.

Women's Focus, Inc is an organization for women business owners, management executives, and other professionals in Ozaukee County.  Their first formal meeting was held in 1979 with the idea of a business women’s group in Ozaukee County first being discussed the year prior.
