A 15-year-old Mequon boy was cited for burglary and vandalism after breaking into Donges Bay School, 2401 W. Donges Bay Road, the evening of July 7. Surveillance video showed him and another boy enter the school and take property valued at more than $1,000, including an Apple Mini iPad 3, an Apple Nano, batteries, a Nikon camera and 3 pounds of Jolly Rancher candies.
More than 25 unlocked cars were entered, most located east of the Milwaukee River, west of North Port Washington Road and both north and south of Mequon Road, including North Riverland and River roads, North Norway and Mulberry drives and North Bobolink Lane from July 3 to 6.
Two cars with keys were taken, one a 2002 BMW with a set of golf clubs and shoes valued at more than $2,000 from the 10800 block of North Norway Drive on July 3 or 4, and a 2006 Hyundai, recovered in Milwaukee, from the 4100 block of West Haven Avenue on July 6.
A 33-year-old Mequon man was cited for his fourth OWI after an accident on West Highland and North Cedarburg roads at 7:18 p.m. July 4. The man, who admitted drinking a half liter of whiskey, said he attended an AA meeting. His preliminary BAC was 0.33.
A 25-year-old Fox Lake man, the driver, and his passenger, a 23-year-old Beaver Dam man, were cited for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and the driver, who was on probation, for obstruction after lying to officers and vandalism in the 100 block of West Freistadt Road at 3:38 p.m. July 10. An officer saw the car that had a gas handle and hose sticking out of the gas tank hit a curb causing a flat tire. The passenger, who had fresh needle marks on his arms, also had a baggie hidden in his underwear that he admitted held a gram of heroin. The hose and handle came from a gas station in the 300 block of North Main Street.
