Thiensville — Parking overnight on village streets has recently gotten a little bit easier.

The Thiensville Police Department has started accepting overnight parking requests from its website, www.village.thiensville.wi.us.

Residents and visitors may now request permission for overnight parking online by entering their name and contact information, as well as the vehicle location, description and license plate information. An email confirmation will be sent for record-keeping purposes.

Before submitting the request, the site requires individuals to agree to the terms outlined in the village ordinance on the matter.

Terms outlined do allow vehicle owners to request permission from the police department to leave their vehicle parked on village streets for reasons such as driveway construction, overnight guests or large vehicles.

The conditions, which require that requests be received between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., do not allow multiple day parking requests or parking on the street when inclement weather is projected.

All fields on the form must be completed, including the vehicle owner's name and telephone number.

Without permission, parking on Thiensville's streets is limited to 30 minutes between 2 and 6 a.m.

For unusual requests, or for more information about the parking rules, contact Thiensville Police Department during business hours Monday to Friday at (262) 242-2100.
