MEQUON - The city is accepting applications to fill the District 7 alderman seat following the resignation of Andrew Nerbun.

Applicants have until noon May 11 to submit applications for the position to the city clerk. The common council will then meet as the committee of the whole May 16 to go through candidate interviews with the final appointment being made June 13 by the council.

Nerbun was appointed to the District 8 seat after it was vacated due to the death of Alderwoman Pam Adams. Nerbun was moving out of his district into District 8, which led to his resignation from the council and eventual application for the vacant seat.

His appointment was finalized at the April 18 common council meeting when the timeline for filling the District 7 vacancy was decided.
