MEQUON - The city's April 11 common council meeting has been canceled due to a death in the family of one of the aldermen.
Due to the vacant seat on the council, there would not be a quorum, according to Administrative Assistant Kathy Andrykowski.
Following the death of District 8 Alderwoman Pam Adams in February, the council met as the committee of the whole to fill it. Former District 7 Alderman Andrew Nerbun was selected April 3 to fill the seat as he recently resigned from his position in District 7 as he was moving to District 8.
The council was expected to finalize the appointment of Nerbun at the April 11 meeting as well as to prepare to fill the District 7 seat.
Some of the other items on the agenda included the council reviewing a development agreement for Highland Estates, reviewing a preliminary traffic and parking study for the Logemann Center property, and reviewing the potential purchase of more than 30 acres of land at the southwest corner of Port Washington and Bonniwell Roads owned by the Department of Natural Resources.
