Mequon — Concordia University Wisconsin and Milwaukee Area Technical College have teamed up to give MATC students housing options at CUW.
The articulation agreement was signed Jan. 20 by Vicki J. Martin, president of MATC, and Rev. Patrick T. Ferry, president of CUW. MATC doesn't have any campus housing options and this gives students who have local classes or internships an option to live nearby.
"This new partnership with Concordia University will benefit students who are interested in academic programs offered at our Mequon Campus," Martin said. "Offering campus housing and robust student life opportunities will enhance their overall MATC experience. We appreciate the opportunity to expand our strong partnership with our valued colleagues and neighbors at Concordia."
During the ceremony, the two had a discussion about the future of higher education partnerships. Both expressed a desire to continue exploring ways to provide more access and opportunity for lifelong learning, according to a news release.
“As higher education continues to evolve, it is important that we collaborate with partners like MATC to offer a nimble, dynamic learning environment to meet the individual needs of our students,” Ferry said.
MATC and CUW have eight transfer agreements which allow students to transfer earned credits from MATC to CUW toward their bachelor's degree.
