A series of burglaries with forced entry to trailers, an outbuilding and a home under construction — all at construction sites located near the Interstate-43 corridor — were reported in the town of Grafton over the last few weeks.

According to a news release from the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, the incidents appear to be similar in nature and all are under investigation.

The first incidents occurred overnight June 13 or 14 when a home under construction and a trailer in the 600 and 700 blocks of Lakefield Road were entered with tools and construction materials along with cooper wire taken.

Then an outbuilding, identified as a “maintenance shop” at the Fire Ridge Golf Course, 2297 Highway W, was broken into with tools and other equipment taken June 29 or 30.

On July 3, there were reports that two commercial buildings and four enclosed trailers had been forcibly entered at two businesses, Paul Crandall & Associates and Chenery Brothers, 1645 and 1655 N. Port Washington Road, again with construction tools and equipment taken sometime July 1 to 3.

Residents are asked to report any suspicious incidents by calling the Sheriff’s office at 262-284-7172 or by texting “OZSO + your tip” to 847411.
