The Cedarburg Cultural Center will host an exhibit and sale highlighting the creative and original watercolor paintings of local artists Erin Callahan Blum, Tom Kubala and Alice Struck. The exhibit and sale opens Thursday, May 4, and runs through Sunday, June 11, in the center’s Columbia St. Mary’s Gallery.
All three are area painters, with watercolor as their medium of choice.
Blum creates art inspired by the surrounding communities in Grafton and the people around her. Kubala’s subjects range from local architecture and landscapes to still-life objects. Struck’s subjects are the natural landscapes of Wisconsin, urban and architectural environments, portraits and close-ups of ordinary things.
Concurrently running in the east and corridor galleries will be “Our World in Watercolor”, an exhibit of watercolor artworks contributed by a variety of local artists in a variety of styles.
Most artwork will be available for purchase.
A public opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, in honor of both exhibits. A cash bar and complimentary refreshments will be available. All CCC members and participating artists are invited to a special champagne preview hour from 5 to 6 p.m.
