1An 18-year-old woman, formerly of Mequon and now identified as homeless, was cited for theft Feb. 4 after taking more than $150 and credit cards from a purse at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 6031 W. Chapel Hill Road, the evening of Feb. 3. The woman was at the church under the guidance of Family Promise of Ozaukee County and stole the items from one of the volunteers. She then used a stolen card, buying items online at Walmart and Victoria’s Secret and sending those purchases to the Family Promise Office in Port Washington. Those items were recovered. Also on that same evening, another supervisor reported $50 missing from her purse.
2A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon, his third driving with a revoked license and his second suspended registration after he was stopped for a defective headlight in the 11000 block of I-43 at 3:17 a.m. Feb. 9. The man admitted knowing his license and registration were suspended. Before the car was towed, it was searched and police found a pipe and scale with residue in the car and a loaded semi-automatic handgun in the locked glove box. The man said he didn’t think he needed a permit for the gun and did not recall how the paraphernalia got in his car.
3A resident called police reporting both a bedroom and living room window were hit with a hard object and shattered in the 5300 block of West Sunnyside Drive at 9:11 p.m. Feb. 9. After hearing the windows being hit, a large rock was found on the bedroom floor. The case, possibly an isolated incident, is under investigation.
