1A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for shoplifting a box of diabetic test strips valued at $144.95 at Walgreens, 100 Washington Ave., about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 30. That same man had also taken four boxes of the strips earlier at the Grafton Walgreens and after his being cited in Cedarburg he was also cited for shoplifting in Grafton. A 42-year-old Milwaukee woman who was in the man’s car was taken into custody on a warrant.


2A known suspect was seen taking 10 power tools valued at more than $3,000 and exiting Home Depot, 1350 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:23 p.m. Dec. 24. An employee attempted to stop the man but was pushed aside. That same man is a suspect in the theft of Dewalt Hammer drills valued at $1,137 at the same store about 6:20 a.m. Jan. 3. The man entered the store through an exit door, picked up the drills and fled.

3A 27-year-old Sheboygan Falls woman was mailed a citation Dec. 26 for issuing a worthless check of $585.69 at Costco Wholesale, 950 N. Port Washington Road, on Sept. 24. The store attempted to deposit the check twice but each time the bank said there were insufficient funds. They attempted to reach the woman both by mail and phone but she never responded and police were called.

4A man (same man as item No. 1) was seen taking four boxes of One Touch Ultra Test Strips — diabetic test strips — valued at $144.95 a box at Walgreens, 1915 Wisconsin Ave., about 5 p.m. Dec. 30. The man had put the boxes in a basket along with a package of Depends and other items and then left the basket on a counter, walking out with just the test strips. Loss Prevention notified other Walgreens stores regarding the theft and the man was identified for shoplifting test strips at Walgreens in Cedarburg. When cited there, he admitted the Grafton theft.

5A male was seen taking an air soft pistol valued at $80 at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1020 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 30. The man had picked up the pistol and then spoke with an employee about it. He then went to the return window and asked for a refund. When asked for his ID, he said he didn’t have one and left the store with the pistol.

6Felony charges for theft have been requested for a 20-year-old West Bend man after he shoplifted 15 video game systems valued at more than $820 at Target, 1250 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:45 p.m. Dec. 30. The man, a known suspect, was caught on video removing the games from “video game keepers” and leaving the store. Later, it was reported the man had been taken into custody for theft by the Menomonee Falls police.

7A Coach purse valued at $200 with a wallet, credit cards and $200 cash was taken when left on a shelf/display at Meijer, 1600 N. Port Washington Road, about 8 a.m. Dec. 31 and reported Jan. 1.
