Burglary

1About $35 was taken during a burglary at Spanky’s Hideaway, 5208 W. County Line Road, about 2:50 a.m. Sept. 23. At that time, an alarm sounded and when police arrived they found a window broken. Video showed two people entering the business.

Theft

2A Trek Hybrid bicycle valued at $1,100 was taken from a basement parking garage in the 10600 block of North Ivy Court between Sept. 15 and 25.

3Two Milwaukee women, 29 and 30, were cited for shoplifting after taking Ugg boots and children’s clothing valued at $298 at Marshall’s, 10984 N. Port Washington Road, at 3 p.m. Sept. 21. The women were reported as “known suspects” for previous thefts.

4A 41-year-old Wauwatosa woman was cited for theft from her employer, Subway, 6021 W. Mequon Road, on Sept. 23. The woman took money from a cash register over a period of time.

5Two purses with wallets and credit cards, one a Coach purse valued at $200 along with $80 cash, were taken from cars in the 5500 block of West Pioneer Road in the early evening Sept. 23. Windows were broken to gain entry.

6A purse and contents, including a $500 store gift card and $100 cash, was taken from a car in the 6100 block of West Mequon Road the morning of Sept. 27. A window was broken to gain entry.

Drunken driving

7A 41-year-old Mequon man was cited for his second OWI after he rolled through a stop sign on his motorcycle with a passenger in the 9100 block of West Mequon Road at 2:48 a.m. Sept. 24. The man, who failed field sobriety tests and had a preliminary BAC of 0.24, was taken for a blood draw.

8Three 18-year-old men, two of Scottsdale, Arizona, and one from La Grange, Kentucky, and a 19-year-old Chandler, Arizona, man were cited for underage drinking after Campus Security was alerted regarding someone vomiting at Wittenberg Hall, Concordia University, 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive, at 1:32 a.m. Sept. 25. The men had BACs ranging from 0.05 to 0.22.

9Five girls, of Milwaukee and Mequon, were cited for disorderly conduct after fighting in a hallway outside the cafeteria of Homestead High School, 5000 W. Mequon Road, at 7:09 a.m. Sept. 26. According to police, a Mequon girl had used social media to criticize a Milwaukee girl who has a baby, calling that baby “ugly.” The girls are also facing “serious consequences” from the school, according to a letter sent to all parents by Principal Brett Bowers.

10A large front double glass window was found shattered at Leo and Lou’s Children’s Wear, 11275 N. Cedarburg Road, before 4 p.m. Sept 29. The case is under investigation.

THIENSVILLE

11A 44-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to have insurance after he was stopped for second offense driving without a valid license in the 500 block of Green Bay Road at 1:58 p.m. Sept. 25. The man had a glass pipe with residue in his pocket and a screen also with residue was in the car. Charges for driving without a valid license were forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.

12A 23-year-old Brown Deer man was cited for his second offense of possession of marijuana, possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, along with speeding and failure to have insurance, in the 200 block of South Main Street at 9:43 p.m. Sept. 27. A K-9 officer was called to the scene and indicated on the driver’s door, where marijuana and a pipe were located. The man also had a glass bong and two glass pipes, all with marijuana residue and a mirror with a white powder that tested positive for heroin.

13A 30-year-old Milwaukee man, riding a Trek bicycle was taken into custody by Brown Deer Police on a warrant sometime Sept. 30 or Oct. 1. It turned out the bike he was riding had been taken from a home in the 100 block of South Main Street after 8 p.m. Sept. 30, the last time it was seen. The bike, valued at $200, was returned to the owner and charges for theft have been requested through the District Attorney’s office.
