Monster families have always been a pop-culture fave, from the Munsters to the Addams Family, and folks can bring home Drac’s growing animated clan soon enough.

Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler) gets to know his grandson Dennis (Asher Blinkoff) in "Hotel Transylvania 2."

The comedy sequel Hotel Transylvania 2, with a worldwide box-office haul of $430 million since September, debuts on digital HD platforms Dec. 22 and arrives on Blu-ray/DVD Jan. 12. Adam Sandler returns as the voice of the vampiric pater familias Drac, and in the sequel Drac tries to bring out the ghoulish side of his grandson Dennis — the kid of daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) and human dude Johnny (Andy Samberg). However, when old-school great-grandpa Vlad (Mel Brooks) comes for a visit, he’s none too pleased about the changes happening in Hotel Transylvania.

A bonus feature on the release focuses on the new characters such as Vlad and Kakie the Cake Monster, and in this exclusive clip, director Genndy Tartakovsky discusses what went into the design for young Dennis: "Basically we decided that his head and his features would be more Mavis, and his hair would be all Johnny. And then some."

Other extras include a “Monster Scary-Oke!” singalong, deleted scenes, interactive featurettes teaching kids how to draw their fave monsters and throw cool parties, the Fifth Harmony music video for "I’m in Love" with a Monster, character sketches and commentaries featuring Sandler and Tartakovsky.
