Michelle Obama does flawless POTUS impression for Colbert

If Saturday Night Live needs someone to do a Barack Obama impression now that Jay Pharoah has left the show, they may want ask Michelle Obama.

The First Lady, in addition to her many, many other talents, is a pretty good impressionist. While stopping by The Late Show on Tuesday and chatting with Stephen Colbert (about really casual topics like what Beyoncé is like in real life), she slipped into an impression of her husband after first showing how well she can imitate his smiles. FLOTUS gave us a peek into what the Obama family dinners are like: Malia asks her dad about serious things like global warming and he responds in kind, while Sasha and Michelle prefer to talk about their favorite Lemonade song (skip to 4:58 in the video to see the impression).

Colbert also asked FLOTUS about a certain other potential FLOTUS, Melania Trump, who, you'll recall, delivered a plagiarized speech at the RNC that took from one of Michelle's. When asked if she had "sympathy" for political spouses who have to stand by their partners no matter what, she responded that she didn't. She explained that if she didn't believe in her husband she would have told him she couldn't support his run.

“So I stand there proudly, and I hope they are, too, standing with their spouses proudly,” she said. “So no sympathy.”
