Michelle Obama gleams in lastest stunning Naeem Khan gown

The Obama administration may be winding down but first lady Michelle Obama is keeping up her high fashion standards, returning to a favorite designer, Naeem Khan, to keep style-watchers gasping with admiration.

The first lady donned a glittery gold gown by Khan for the first couple's last awards dinner with the Congressional Black Caucus Saturday night in Washington, winning applause in a strapless confection that featured a full skirt, sweetheart neckline and hand-painted gold leaf on black tulle.

On Twitter, she "glistened" and "shimmered" and "stunned."

President Obama was there to deliver his last speech before the the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 46th annual dinner, where he took time to praise his wife.

"I’ve been so blessed to have a wife and a partner on this journey who makes it look so easy," he said, according to the White House transcript. "And is so strong, so honest and so beautiful and so smart."

And so stylish. The India-born Khan has been a regular on the FLOTUS fashion agenda since the beginning of the Obama administration: She wore a gleaming Champagne-colored custom-made Khan gown to the Obamas' first state dinner, for India, in November 2009.

Obama last wore a Khan design, a blush-colored, one-shouldered gown, at the state dinner for Nordic countries in May.
