Straight Up Hollywood: 'Hands of Stone,' buns of steel

Carly Mallenbaum
USA TODAY

Sometimes, a celebrity arrives to his interview in Chris Brown's Lamborghini, an hour-and-a-half late, for a meeting at a boxing gym.

At least that's what movie reporter Bryan Alexander (@bryalexand) experienced recently when he interviewed Hands of Stone star Usher, who plays Sugar Ray Leonard in the movie. Alexander talks all about that encounter– which included an awkward compliment about Usher's muscular posterior– on the latest episode of L.A. podcast Straight Up Hollywood.

Also on the podcast, West Coast entertainment editor Andrea Mandell (@andreamandell) talks about how the actor who plays Barack Obama in Southside With You almost blew his audition, and Bill Keveney (@billkev) goes behind-the-scenes of Fear the Walking Dead and Halt and Catch Fire.
